Dutch craft beer brand Brouwerij Homeland Amsterdam has collaborated with Ball Corporation to create a unique, blank can design for its popular spelt beer. The cans utilize Ball’s 33-centiliter standard format, which is a popular choice amongst many craft brewers. Unlike other brands, Brouwerij Homeland Amsterdam has chosen to leave the 360-degree can canvas blank, creating a strong, stand out design. The minimalist cans feature no printing or messaging, other than the name, date and alcohol percentage on the bottom of the can.

UNITED CAPS Extends ‘Close to You’ Strategy with New Factory in the United Kingdom

Sophisticated label substrates have experienced exponential growth due to demand for high-end applications according FINAT’s latest findings. Since 2010 demand for PP-based materials has grown 78%, direct thermal papers are up 51% and white coated papers enjoyed a 24% increase. The figures show that while paper based materials continue to dominate label materials demand, there has been a shift from basic primary and VIP labels towards more sophisticated, high-end applications.

The aesthetic appeal of Multi-Color Corporation North America Wines & Spirits’ Sidewinder Spirits label helped it achieve the accolade of Best in Show at the 2018 FINAT Label Competition. The label also won the Marketing/End-Uses Group award at the 38th annual event which celebrates outstanding label production. Organised by the European label association FINAT, the competition’s expert judging panel is led annually by Tony White of AWA Consulting. Sustainability was the central topic at this year’s “Day of Packaging”. And what could be more obvious than to ask thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH, Germany’s only packaging steel manufacturer, about the production and recycling of tinplate. About 30 students and teachers from Andernach, Neuwied and Mülheim-Kärlich took the opportunity to collect information on packaging steel, the recycling “champion”, at the fourth national “Day of Packaging”. Champion due to the fact that in 2016, 91 percent of used tinplate packaging was recycled in Germany. For many years, this recycling rate has put packaging steel well-ahead of other packaging materials.

Ettlinger’s ECO melt filters make fines almost one hundred percent recyclable

President Paolo Mongardi stated: “The key ingredients of our future-oriented recipe are investment, service and governance 4.0”. The 2017 Financial Statement for SACMI Imola shows higher sales and an increased gross operating margin with respect to 2016. Like its parent company, the Group as a whole closed the year by improving on the previous year’s performance, with sales touching 1.434 billion euro; the net consolidated result was over 35 million, also on the rise compared to 2016.
