Berry Highlights Innovation in Closures at BrauBeviale

Berry Global will showcase its wide range of closures and reusable cups for the beverage industry on Stand 215, Hall 4, at this year’s BrauBeviale exhibition in Nuremberg from 26th to 28th November. Among a variety of products on show for waters, juices, soft drinks and dairy products, the company will highlight solutions that help brands to meet their sustainability goals with designs that are lightweight, improve recyclability, and are designed for the growing returnable market.
In addition to its tethered closure portfolio, Berry will display two recent developments, a lightweight closure for refillable glass bottles, as well as hot & cold cups for refillable beverages. “The right drinks packaging plays an important role in supporting brand image and identity,” said Uwe Zinnert, Sales Director Reusables, Berry Global CPI. “At BrauBeviale, one of the key messages on our stand will be how aesthetics and sustainability can be effectively combined to help maximise consumer appeal.”
Berry’s tethered closures offer beverage companies an innovative circular solution that can help reduce plastic litter and encourage closure recycling. Designed for cold fill and aseptic applications, including still water and functional drinks, the range features a special tamper-evident band that, once broken, allows the closure to remain attached to the bottle. This both significantly reduces the likelihood of littering and supports increased recycling in countries with the appropriate recycling infrastructure in place. At the same time, the flip top hinge locks the lid away from the face to ensure a comfortable drinking experience for the consumer, with easy reclosing after use.
The tethered closures meet current legislation on single-use plastics, including the EU requirement for plastic beverage bottles up to 3 litres in size to have closures that remain attached to a container throughout its intended use. “Closures are a vital part of a drink’s packaging in terms of both functionality and enhancing the consumer experience,” said Sarah de la Mare, Product Line Director – Closures, Berry Global CPI. “The products displayed on our stand will show how we are working to marry these benefits with the enhanced sustainability that manufacturers and consumers are demanding, for single-use and refillable applications alike”
